Our nurses
Helen Wortley
I have been at HDS for 11 years, coming to the practice straight from school. I qualified in 1998 (NEBDN) and registered with GDC 2008. (Legal requirements). . I have been appointed Head Nurse and am responsible for ensuring the highest standards are practiced uniformly by all the nurses within the Practice. My duties include nursing and working on reception. I keep up to date with the changes in dentistry and attend courses and meetings, most recently being basic life support. I have attended a sedation course. I enjoy working as part of the HDS team, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere

I had a career change in March 2010 when I joined the team at HDS. I am looking foward to learning the many different aspects that dentistry has to offer. I enjoy meeting people and look foward to getting to know our patients. In September I begin my course to qualify for NEBDN, which will take one year.

I became a member of HDS in February 2009 as a newcomer to dentistry. So far I have completed extensive training at college and in surgery. I am due to take the NEBDN exam in May 2010 to qualify as a Dental Nurse. I can then attend additional courses to achieve further skills towards my Dental Nursing career at HDS.
I love the many different aspects of dental nursing and being part of the HDS team to provide a relaxed, comfortable visit for our patients in a modern, family practice.
